Summary
Soda Kaichi was a Japanese Protestant missionary and social worker. He is remembered in South Korea for his charitable work in Korea under Japanese rule, particularly through the Kamakura Orphanage, which he led from 1921 to 1945. During this time, he cared for more than a thousand Korean orphans.

There have been varying estimates of the number he raised, but 3,000 seems really high. It possibly includes the efforts of his orphange during the time that he wasn't in Korea
